Growing up in the concrete jungle that is Los Angeles is no joke for a young kid in the hood. Just to get up out the slums and make something out yourself when you start that deep in the hole must seem like an endless struggle. Or like Nipsey Hussle likes to call it, a Marathon.

Neighborhood Nipsey first stepped out on the scene 2008, quickly earning the attention of the hip-hop world who annointed Hussle a leader of the New School. His All Money In Records debut mixtape series 'Bullets Aint Got No Name' turned heads from East to West and Hussle quickly got tagged as XXL's Top 2010 Freshmen and scooped up by the label system. The anticipation for Nip's first studio album 'South Central State Of Mind' then went from buzzing to bubbling to fizzling once his label took the slow route with the West Coast youngster.

So with the start-date pushed back and back, Nip took it into his own hands and created THE MARATHON... lettin' his fans, and anyone else who's interested, know that he does this 24/7/365/26.2... that last digit's the Marathon folks, and Nipsey's runnin' this sh*t. After 'The Marathon' pleasantly surprised folks last go-around, this time is no different. Nip's got that knack for makin' that authentic West Coast street music.
