Timbo The King spent most of his 2006 lacing non-hip-hop projects, but the rap game will always faithful to Magoo's better half. Timbaland, fresh off producing platinum hits for Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, puts 'Shock Value' together with a collection of his favorite beats, piecing the tracks together like a movie (says Timbo) and fusing the worlds of hip-hop, pop, Asian music and punk rock. With features from 50 Cent & Tony Yayo (on the track "Come and Get Me"), old pals Missy (obvious bounce track, "Bounce"), Justin (3 tracks total), and Nelly Furtado, plus a few new ones, particularly PCD's Nicole Scherzinger and Elton John).
Here's what he had to say about his new brainchild:"My mission is to blow up the boundaries and tear down the limits," says Timbaland. "I'm taking my music outside of the box. I'm not getting away from what I'm known for; I'm just going to a place where it's all about the music, not about the labels on the music. That's why I call it Shock Value--from the artists to the production, it will shock the system."
