In sports, people love to talk about which athlete is the best without winning the championship. The mighty Consequence aka. Cons To The... might go down in hip-hop history as the dopest emcee to never put out an official album. All that is about to change.
He originally scored it big thanks to his relationship with Q-Tip. He became what would become an almost 4th member-like presence with A Tribe Called Quest over the years, popping up on big hits from Tribe's classic hip-hop originals. He soon built his rep and Tip signed him to his Elektra Records imprint Museum Music, but his debut album never surfaced.
Years later, after a handful of acclaimed mixtapes, Kanye West became the next hip-hop superstar to recognize Cons' talent. After several Kanye-backed ventures, including his 2004 street album 'Take Em To The Cleaners,' G.O.O.D. Music opened up its doors to the veteran hip-hop rookie. This release finally makes it official and takes Consequence off that list of hip-hop what-ifs. Presented by Kanye West and G.O.O.D. (via Sony), this CD features the hits "Callin' Me" and "Grammy Family," plus appearances from Kanye, John Legend, GLC and DJ Khaled.
