"Show Some Courtesy C.U.R.T.I.S."
By now you know the back story: while live on the radio with Hot 97 in New York City one Friday, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and hostess Angie Martinez received a call from Cameron "Cam'ron" Giles. Hearing 50 say he could shut down projects over at KOCH Records, Killa called up the radio station to let Fif know he wasn't rocking with that, and that NOBODY shuts down the Dipset's movement. By the time Angie could shut off the audio from Cam's call, the Dipset's leader had berated 50 multiple times, egging him on by shouting his first name and telling "Cuuuurrrrtttiiiis" to tell the truth.
By Monday, 50 Cent was circulating his response to Cam's barrage of on-air insults in the form of a track/music video dissing the Pink Panther. But the Dips don't mess around, and just as quickly, Cam'ron had shot his reply in Harlem, getting an entire hood of people to yell "Cuuuurrrtiiisss" to the cadence of the song. From fans to bystanders to kids to police officers, you'll catch damn near all of Harlem showing love for Cam and yelling out 'Currrtttiiiis' as the video plays.
Taking it one step further, this is the official Diplomats shirt for the C.U.R.T.I.S. video, and it comes straight from the Dipset camp. Similar to the G-Unot movement created by the famous streetwear, this Dipset movement takes on its own apparel for the purpose of smearing 50 Cent's name. On the front of the shirt is the acronym C.U.R.T.I.S., which stands for Co-Operating Unit Reinforcing Telling In Secrecy. The official Diplomats logo is screen-printed on the left sleeve as well.
We're sure 50's used to it by now, but the shirt is pretty hilarious anyway. Let's just make sure we keep this one on wax (and video), fellas.
